A great deal of tradition and craftsmanship—combined with high-tech, where it serves precision: that is NOMOS Glashütte. History of Nomos Glashütte Tetra Watches Incepted in the year 1990 by a computer expert, Roland Schwertner- the Nomos Glashütte is a well-known German luxury watch brand headquartered in the town of Glashütte. Nomos tips a hat to Ludwig van Beethoven with Tetra ‘Symphony’ models Independent German watchmaker Nomos pays tribute to Beethoven with four new Tetra Symphony models, in celebration of the composer’s 250th birthday.

The NOMOS Tetra combines the elegance of a square case with the playfulness of brightly colored dials. The company chose the name Tetra, the Greek word for the number four, in reference to the case’s four sides. Its design helps this timepiece stand out from the crowd while maintaining the straight lines, simplicity, and elegance that defines NOMOS watches.

Tetra’s typography is reminiscent of Tangente. However, the sans serif numerals here are a touch more modern. The hands shine cornflower blue—entirely without lacquer or coloring. According to old watchmaking traditions, they receive their color by being heated to 290°C.

Tetra looks a little more simple than the other NOMOS watches. Maybe that’s why the designers love to play with its dial in varying styles. With an automatic caliber, Tetra neomatik remains as slim as a hand-wound timepiece, thanks to DUW 3001, the tenth in-house caliber from NOMOS Glashütte.

The Tetra is Nomos’ only square watch and this year it receives an update to its size, design and movement. Originally aimed at female collectors, this new Neomatik version is now an excellent choice for both men and women. As part of the Neomatik collection, it has a unique color scheme as well as the DUW 3001 ultra-thin automatic.
